Cyleina Soaps - Black Pearl and Rice Bran
I discovered Cyleina soaps because of Girltalk. I was particularly interested in the Black Pearl Soap so I ordered two from a reseller. There was a cube of Rice bran soap that the reseller included so i was able to try it. I loved it. It rescued me from breakouts when it is that time of the month. So I ordered a bar of Rice Bran. These are two of my favorite soaps. I love how Rice bran exfoliates my skin, both on my face and body, and I love the cooling effect of Black Pearl. They did lighten my face but not my body because I like using Johnson's Baby Milk Bath instead. There are a lot of other variants from this brand but I am sticking with these 2. But I love anything with milk so i am tempted to try their variant with milk on it. Maybe some other time.
But I somehow have this sort of love-hate relationship with these soaps. There are times when they work wonders for me, but there are times when they are simply blah! Maybe it's just me. But I wouldn't repurchase these soaps if I do not love them so I guess love outweighs hate.
Anyway, I just bought these 2 soaps from a seller on eBay.ph the other day and I have them now.
Black pearl automatically makes me feel refreshed on hot days but a little too chilling if used on cold days.
I read a tip to cut the soaps in cubes or in parts to make them last longer and I will do that.
So far, I am happy with my "Obagi-Gluta"-infused soap. I like that it works in tandem with ACV. No harsh or adverse reaction from my skin. in fact, it is clearer and smoother. Hmmm... I am thinking if I should start using these 2 soaps again on my face. Maybe I'll just use them on my body for now. I need to exfoliate. Maybe they can work well with my Spa Milk Salt.

Rigatoni in Tomato Sauce
Being the chef wannabe that I am, I volunteered to cook pasta for our family lunch today. My aunts and cousins and uncle were here because of the family outing planning stuff and for the welcome thingie for my cousin and his girlfriend's arrival on the 30th. So I cooked something they know I love to cook - pasta. I was supposed to cook lemon chicken as well for lunch but I woke up too late and I had a hangover from last night's sessions. Oh, I had dinner at Charlie's with GB, Gayle, and Chenets. I had a hard time finishing the Angus Beef Cheeseburger and for the last few bites, I am so thankful that GB helped me. As I couldn't take anything anymore.
After dinner, I met up with a couple of former colleagues from IBM Business Services, Donna and Dennis, at Bamboo Grill Asia (right across our house). Everything was smooth at first but then things ended up pretty bad when the two of them had a heated argument. I got home at 3am and I was kinda drunk with beer and zombie. So enough blabbing. Yeah, the pasta was cooked for snacks even though it was originally intended for lunch. So the picture on the top is just my share. I love tomatoes and meat sauce. The sauce can also be used as a salsa. Yummy! I love pasta and Italian cuisine. Hopefully, I cook it good enough.

MAALOX - make up primer for oily skin?
I've always had oily skin. Some say it's better to have oily skin than having dry skin because you don't get wrinkles that easily. But then when you go out and your face gets oily, it somewhat gets annoying and in a way icky. Not just for you but perhaps for some other people as well. I have tried several foundations to help keep oil at bay but then I guess foundation alone isn't good enough and needs help from something else. I was browsing the forums when I came across a thread that says Maalox or Milk of Magnesia is used as a primer by some girls and is good at controlling the oilies. Even Tyra Banks uses it, according to one article I read. I do not care what products celebrities use and I don't care if Tyra Banks use this as well. I'm just after the effect and results. So I had my Mom buy me a bottle of Maalox Suspension Antacid when she went to the drugstore some time last year. It doesn't cost much, 200-250 bucks for one 180mL bottle. Since I also have hyperacidity, this could also double as a medicine for me since that's what this medicine is originally intended for. I was a bit iffy at first because it's supposed to be taken orally and not applied topically. But what the heck, I decided to give it a try. I was still into using mineral make up back then. It was indeed able to keep the oiliness at bay for quite some time but nothing really grand about it. It does help, in a way. I am a bit pleased with the results but I guess if I really want to minimize the oiliness, then I should really focus on skin care and not on what can be used to mask it instead.
Here's the Maalox that is locally available at Watson's:
WOOT: So far, I've been loving ACV (apple cider vinegar). I have been using it for a little over a week now and my skin has cleared up. Of course, there are still darn marks left due to the recent break out caused by Olay. Of course, I hafta say it again.
And I have purchased a facial soap that claims to have Obagi which is quite nice. I don't wanna spend much on Obagi because I heard it causes oilies due to having to put layers of stuff on your face. And they're creams. So far so good. But I came across this particular soap on eBay as well which claims to have been formulated by a dermatologist. I decided to buy a bar and cut a little cube first to try on me. I think I see micropeeling on my face. I'm scared.
I never went to a dermatologist because I never had acne problems when I was growing up. I remember going there only twice. Once when I was a kid and developed a rash on the left cheek because the cats sleep on my face.
And the other one, like 5 years ago when I had a pimple on my cheek which got a little infected when I accidentally scratched on it on my sleep. T'was nasty! But it was healed after 2 days
No pimple mark. Whew! That was quite long.
Going back to Maalox. Yes, it works. It works as good as my The Face Shop Span Oil Control Pre-Make Up Primer. I take back what I said about Span not working on a previous post. it does work. Well, it worked when i used traditional make up and not mineral make up. But I am loving the MAC Studio Fix + MAC Blot combo! Really works magic on my skin.
Have to go for now. Au revoir!
Oooh, 5 more days before my Ecotools brushes and ELF Studio Make up to arrive! Plus I'll see my cousin after almost 10 years of not seeing him.

4U2 Eyeshadow Palette Impressionist
A few weeks ago, I purchased the 4U2 eyeshadow palette in Impressionist for PHP994. I haven't used it when I go out because I am too lazy to apply eyeshadow. Just the basics- concealer, foundation, eyeliner & mascara (if I feel like applying both but most of the time i don't), blush, and lip balm or lip gloss. Well, maybe if I feel like wearing eyeshadow, I would go for something really light like white or cream with a little shimmer to make my eyes look a little more awake. That's just about it for my everyday make up. Boring, yes. So I played around with this palette so I can at least try them on me. Here's what the palette looks like.
BUT I was surprised when I saw that the silver shadow broke when I opened the case. I didn't even throw it or anything. Here are two pictures.
See? I was so careful with the entire palette so as not to break any but still....
Anyway, I used pink and blue and purple for this. I didn't want it too bright and loud.
T'was so light you can barely see anything.
For the brow bone, I used Palladio's shimmer strips to highlight.
